15-years old Richard Evans helps out at a local animal shelter. He started working there a year ago. He learned about this shelter from people, who came to give a talk about ways teen can help out in the community. Richard helps out for a couple of hours about twice a week. He feeds, cleans and exercises animals. Sometimes he answers phone calls or helps visitors to choose a pet. There are a lot of different animals and birds in the shelter, not only dogs and cats. If an animal needs more care than usual, shelter will find a foster home for it. Richard also has taken home two kittens. The busiest time for shelters is summer. So it is the best time to volunteer at shelter or help senior citizens or do something else.
