Crime has been around us for a long time. Unfortunately there is no punishment that could prevent people from commiting crime. I live in a big city and every day when i look through the new i read something about criminals and their illegal actions. The most serious crimes in me region are murder and kidnapping, the least serious are pick-pocketing, vandalism. But I can't say that the crime rate is high in my city, because standards of living are rather high there. The situation is different in Siberian cities and towns. There is very high crime rate. Government tries different ways to decrease crime in this region and in other regions. In my opinion crime prevention in our society is an extremely difficult and complicated task because we should change our social and moral principles at large. And it is complicated task for all government structures on all levels. As for me I would not become a police officer, because nowadays this work does not involve protecting citizens from criminals. It includes office work, dealing with documents and other boring things. Moreover a lot of people don't like police officers.
