The cartoon Coco is about 12-year-old boy named Miguel who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead. There he seeks the help of his grandfather, who was a musician. Miguel also wants to be a musician, but his family is against music, because his grandmother Imelda was married to a man who left her and their daughter Coco. He wanted to become a great musician, so he left and never returned. That's why Imelda prohibited all music in her family and started a shoemaking business. Miguel is fond of music. He is fan of musician Ernesto de la Cruz. On the Day of the Dead, Miguel accidentally discover that his grandfather holds an Ernesto's famous guitar. He can't see a face of his grandfather, but Miguel concludes that famous musician Ernesto is his great-great-grandfather. Miguel wants so much to take part in a Day of the Dead talent show, that he breaks Ernesto's mausoleum to take his guitar and to use in the show. When he touches it he becomes invisible. However, he can interact with his skeletal dead relatives, who are visiting from the Land of the Dead for the holiday. He learns that he is cursed because of stealing from the dead, to remove this curse he must receive a blessing from a member of his family. Imelda offers Miguel a blessing on the condition he end his dream of becoming a musician, but Miguel refuses and resolves to seek Ernesto's blessing instead. He meets Hector, who says that he knows Ernesto. He offers to help in return of Miguel taking his photo, because Hector wants to visit her daughter, before she forgets him, causing him to disappear completely. During their journey to Ernesto Miguel discovers that Ernesto poisoned Hector and stole his guitar and songs, passing them off as his own to become famous. Miguel realizes that Hector is his real grandfather, and that Coco is Hector's daughter. Miguel tells the truth to Imelda about her husband, he tells that he was killed by Ernesto, because he wanted to return to Imelda and Coco. Imelda blesses him and Miguel returns to the real world. He plays "Remember Me", a song that Hector wrote for Coco, she sings along with him and it means that she remembers her father Hector and he will stay in the Land of the Dead. The movie dives deep into Mexican culture and family life, representing both in a way that it would be a joy to see. This is a charming story laced from beginning to end with Mexican traditions and culture
