English people really fond of sports. They like to watch sport events on tv, also they take part in sport competitions or just play some sport games. Some of them are international, with few differences. But some sporting traditions are very strange and unfamiliar fo foreigners. For example, pancake races. This sporting tradition involves running with a pancake in a frying pan throwing it in the air. Racers are usually women wearing apron and a hat or scarf. The winner is the fastest racer, who has thrown the pancake in the air a pre-decided number of times. Another unusual tradition requires the physical strength. It is tossing a caber. Players have to throw a long and extremely heavy pine trunk as far as possible. But, surprisingly the style of throwing is valued more than the distance. The third tradition is the most dangerous, unless it is called just a two-day football match. It is a street football match, where can be a hundred of players in every team and two goals posts could be nearly 5 km apart. It is lively and sometimes violent game. As for me I would be happy to take part in big street football game in Ashbourne, because I really love football.
