There are a lot of holidays in the world, but the most loved one is the New Year. Many people wait for this holiday to give presents to their relatives and friends and to start new life. Celebration of the New Year includes a lot of traditions. Some of them are international, other differs from country to country. For example, there is a tradition in UK to join hands at midnight and sing Auld Lang Syne, we don't have this tradition in Belarus. Also there is no tradition of the First Foot like in Scotland and in the north of England. Tradition of New Year's resolutions are not widespread in Belarus. Many people in Belarus stay up until midnight on New Year's eve, 31 December, as well as people in UK. People also see in with their friends and family. In Belarus people celebrate after the clock strikes for the 12th time too. We also watch fireworks. So we have a lot in common between Belarus and Great Britain.
