There are a lot of sporting traditions in the UK. Some of the customs or the rules may seem strange, but they have been around for hundreds of years. For example there is a tradition of Pancake Races all over the England. During the race women wearing apron and a hat or scarf run with a frying pan and throw the pancake in the air. In the Scottish Highlands the Highlands Games are hold. They include highland dancing, playing the badpipes and tossing the caber. Players have to throw extremely heavy pine trunk as far as possible. The two-day football match is held in Ashbourne every spring. The town is divided into two teams. This game is sometimes violent. The match ends with a few broken arms. Actually I don't like the last one tradition. I don't like cruelty. I like the tradition of pancake races. I think it is funny and also I like pancakes.
