According to the dictionary adolescence means the period of time in someone's life between being a child and an adult. Everyone knows that this is challenging time when young people have to make sense of the world and themselves. For some people the challenge makes it an enjoyable time, for others it can be the opposite. Adolescence has it's own rules, but can we really say that is the unhappiest time of the life? On the one hand you're not a kid anymore and adults are starting to treat you as one of them, that means they let you do more than earlier. You can go out with your friends, having fun and go to a party. It's time when you don't have to care too much of earning money and responsibility like adults. It's something between being a real grown-up who has a serious job and family and being a kid who plays computer games all the time. On the other hand young people may get addicted to drugs or alcohol because of a new lifestyle which is promoted by many pop stars. That can destroy their future and they can blame the adolescence itself. It's time when you don't think too much about consequences, act careless and emotional. The adolescence has good and bad sides and it depends of various things. It's really hard to say that it's unhappiest in general because many people have different experience. Personally I think that the adolescence is a beautiful time in our live and we should appreciate all happy moments, because it won't happen again.
