The climate of Russia is influenced and conditioned by its location. As it is situated in the northern and central part of the continent, it's climate is mostly subarctic and humid continental. It's climate varies due to its size. It covers a large area, so its climate ranges from North to South. It's cold in northern areas of the country and it's rather warm and wet in southern areas. The winter temperatures can drop to 50 degrees below 0 and in summer they are usually 20 degrees, but rise to 34 degrees Celsius
